Roselyn Torrellas was born in Barquisimeto, Venezuela, and is fluent in Spanish. She and herfamily immigrated to the United States when she was a teenager. Roselyn lived one year inMiami, Florida before her family relocated to Greensboro, North Carolina. When Roselyngraduated from high school, her family was still in the process of obtaining legal status in theUnited States. Therefore, she was unable to attend university immediately after graduationlike some of her peers.Roselyn knew she wanted to become a lawyer at a very young age. After high schoolgraduation, she decided she wanted to pursue immigration law. Her personal experienceallows her to empathize with her clients while guiding them through the complex and intricateaspects of immigration law.Roselyn attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where she earned herundergraduate degree in Political Science with a minor in Sociology. After graduation, sheworked full-time for an immigration attorney in Greensboro. It was during this time that shedecided to pursue her law degree. She attended the evening program at North CarolinaCentral University School of Law in Durham, where she earned her Juris Doctor in 2009.In her free time, Roselyn enjoys being outdoors as much as possible. She loves hiking,swimming, or just having a relaxing day at the park with her daughter. She also enjoys readinga good book and traveling outside of the United States at least once a year.
